businesses lose money before they ever make any? With the
number of successful internet businesses it makes you
wonder why that is the case. Let's consider a few possible reasons why
so many businesses are losing money online.
1. First of all
understand that there are plenty of businesses off-line that lose a lot
of money as well. Being in business for yourself in any kind of business
is a gamble to a certain extent. It takes an entrepreneurial spirit and
ability to ride out the ups and downs of business and some people are
just not cut out for that.
2. Some people are not very good
business managers. They really have no concept of what it takes to run a
business. This is especially true online where average people attempt to
start an internet business without any previous
experience.
Most of them have never seen a balance sheet and have
no idea how to compare cash coming in versus cash going out. Therefore
they get bad information as they research what they should be doing to
promote their business and end up spending money in wrong ways.
3. Some internet businesses lose money because they
have a poorly designed website. You have to have a lot of traffic to
overcome a poorly designed website.
When a person lands on your
site you have a view seconds to grab their attention before they leave.
If your website does not do that you'll never make any sales which will
cause you to lose money and go out of business.
4. Time is money
online and many people waste time which causes them to lose money. Even
if you are not spending any of your own money you are spending a lot of
your time. Learning how to manage your time properly is a big key to
creating a profit and staying in business on the internet.

Some businesses take gambles with their advertising dollars that do not
pay off. For example pay per click advertising is a gamble to a certain
extent.
If you don't learn how to properly structure an ad and
bid on keywords you can go broke very quick. There's a skill level to
advertising on the internet today and some people just never achieve
that level.
